Mladen Trifunovic stated he “hasn’t gotten any information” from the detectives who investigated the Hollywood Hills residence where d4vd resided.
Main Points:
- D4vd’s ex-landlord employed a private investigator following the discovery of a teenager deceased in a Tesla associated with the artist.
- LAPD conducted a search at the Hollywood Hills residence and allegedly confiscated electronic devices, but new discoveries have not been disclosed.
- The musician postponed tour dates and pushed back his album release, although he hasn’t issued a public announcement.
d4vd’s previous landlord is handling the situation personally. On Tuesday (Oct. 14), TMZ revealed that Mladen Trifunovic, the proprietor of the Hollywood Hills residence rented by the “Romantic Homicide” artist, has engaged a private investigator.
The update came only weeks after the Los Angeles Police Department examined the residence during its probe into the passing of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, detectives carried out a search warrant and confiscated “multiple electronic devices,” such as computers. d4vd allegedly terminated his lease just days following the search, but it is uncertain how much time was left on the agreement.
In any case, Trifunovic mentioned that he “hasn’t gotten any information” from the detectives handling the case. “Our private investigator is still conducting their work, and at the moment, I don’t have any results to report,” he informed TMZ. “It’s still early in the process, and I want to honor both the LAPD’s investigation and the memory of the deceased.”
The LAPD addressed the outlet in a statement: “This is an ongoing investigation.” As soon as more information can be disclosed to the public, it will be issued by the Media Relations Division.

The previous month, d4vd reportedly shifted the ownership of his two homes in Texas to his mother’s name. As previously reported by Rap-Up, authorities responded to the initial incident — a home in the Houston area — after a swatting call incorrectly stated that a shooting had occurred.
Bodycam footage revealed the singer’s parents welcoming officers and mentioning that his younger siblings also resided there. The second property was reported to have been transferred on September 22.
Up to now, d4vd hasn’t issued a public statement, although sources indicate he’s been “collaborating” with law enforcement. He has now canceled the remaining North American dates of his “Withered World Tour” and postponed the deluxe edition of WITHERED, which was initially set for Sept. 19.
Other than some old videos appearing online, limited details have emerged regarding Rivas Hernandez’s cause of death. As of Wednesday (Oct. 15), the coroner’s website continues to show it as “deferred.”
