On Saturday, November 23, 2024, Zenith Bank once again prepared for the Yuletide season with the Light-Up of Ajose Adeogun Street and Roundabout, Victoria Island, Lagos, in keeping with its well regarded yearly tradition. Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Zenith Bank Plc, conducted the Light-Up event.

Zenith Bank’s Light-Up ceremony is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Now in its 18th year, the stunning Christmas décor that turns the entire Ajose Adeogun Street (where Zenith Bank’s corporate headquarters are located) and Roundabout into a stunning Yuletide wonderland has become a well-known tourist destination, drawing tourists from all over the world who come to snap photos and take in the atmosphere of the street.

“Zenith Bank has hosted this spectacular event over the years, transforming the entire Ajose Adeogun Street into a breathtaking Yuletide wonderland,” Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji stated during the ceremony. Our exquisite and intricate Christmas decorations have gained international attention and been shared on social media. We honor Zenith Bank’s unmatched CSR and the spirit of Christmas as we light up the street tonight. The focus of all we do at Zenith Bank will always be our customers. She exhorted everyone to embrace the spirit and message of Christmas, which is one of respect for humankind, love, kindness, and charity. She expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for fostering an atmosphere that made the project possible.

She also commended Quantum Markets, which have been in charge of the yearly decorations, for their skill and originality in creating the beautiful displays. “I want to thank Quantum Markets’ management for all the beautiful, creative, and innovative ideas they keep coming up with,” she said. Every year, Quantum Markets makes it better and bigger, and we always look forward to it.

Zenith Bank is still dedicated to promoting the social, cultural, and economic advancement of the communities where it operates. The foundation of the bank’s CSR and sustainability efforts is the conviction that a company’s current performance is not solely determined by its financial results; rather, it considers a balanced scorecard to include social investments, contributions to inclusive economic growth and development, and enhancements to the physical environment.

The bank’s recognition as the “Most Sustainable Bank, Nigeria” in the 2023 and 2024 International Banker Banking Awards and the “Most Responsible Organization in Africa” at the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility (SERAS) Awards 2021 are testaments to its social investments and contributions to its host communities and society at large.
