Shortly after celebrating his 33rd birthday, Young Thug might receive a surprise gift. According to a recent Billboard article, Courtney Kramer, who is running against Fani Willis for Fulton County DA, says dropping the YSL case will be her first priority if elected.

“I have become highly concerned and disappointed in the lack of prosecutorial oversight in this case,” she stated in a recent statement, adding, “With no apparent justice in sight.” “Over time, the public has witnessed a trial that is very likely over-prosecuted by attorneys who have been reprimanded for not being well-prepared for the trial: a complete and utter waste of the court’s time,” Kramer subsequently said in an explanation.

In her final remarks, she declared that she wanted Willis to resign from the case, saying that the YSL case was really about gaining her notoriety and that there was no real desire to see the community’s rights upheld. She clarified her position after social media critics implied she was choosing sensational subjects in order to garner support.

“Make no mistake, I am not offering anything in exchange for votes,” she retorted. Making sure my voter base is aware of the necessity of using tax payer money to pursue justice and protect our community is what I am doing. Currently, resources are being used in the exact opposite way.

Some social media users applauded her for taking a stand, while others said she was just trying to gain favor with Black voters and wasn’t really trying to help Young Thug. Whatever the debate about her objectives, it seems to be strengthening the momentum behind her campaign.

Artists that have asked for Young Thug’s release include Drake, Lil Durk, Gunna, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Mariah the Scientist.
