Jeffrey Williams Sr., the father of young Thug, has taken aim at anonymous Atlanta rappers who failed to assist his son during his protracted incarceration.
When Williams Sr. appeared on the Nothing But the Truth Podcast, he attacked musicians for wanting a piece of the rapper but doing little to help him in his legal fight after being arrested on RICO charges.
“We have all these rappers and everyone trying to find Young Thug,” he stated. They want this, that, and the other; they want to speak with Young Thug. For 29 months, where has your ass been? Why haven’t you all been out there protesting the violation of his constitutional rights? It is you who are seen as the influencers. I’m not influencing anything.
“You want to talk to him now,” Thug’s father went on. You really want to release these monkey-a*s videos. All of this for your own benefit. It’s only for your own benefit. Your own hype. attempting to stay relevant.
“Where have all of you been? Where have all of you Atlanta artists gone so far?
Additionally, Williams Sr. cited a specific instance in which he sought assistance from an ATL artist: “I asked him to do an event on behalf of YSL.” “Let me get with my people and see if I can do that,” I was informed. However, I still envision you standing next to Young Thug. He needed the assistance at that point. We need to quit using the fake, you know.
Some conjectured that Williams Sr. was referring to T.I., the legendary southern rapper who shared photos of himself with Thugger soon after being released from prison.
Additionally, Williams Sr. has expressed his disapproval of certain of the probationary requirements that were a part of Thug’s plea agreement.
The elder Williams said, “I’m totally against that, because this is where he’s from,” in response to a particular question from local reporters regarding Thug’s ban from Metro Atlanta. To have that taken away from him by a district attorney … I find it disgusting that she would force the man to leave his hometown and move somewhere else. That truly irritates me.
