Young Thug has put out his first new music since his release from jail.
The YSL rapper makes his comeback on “Dum, Dumb & Dumber,” a track from Lil Baby’s freshly-released album WHAM, which also includes notable Atlanta artist Future.
Thugger’s role in the impactful, Wheezy-produced song sees him discussing his two-and-a-half-year time in prison for the first time.
“Yeah, n-gga, King Spider back / I don’t even believe I was locked up, for real, for real / I was havin’ my way the whole time, fool, you know what I’m sayin’?” he brags.
“Dum, Dumb & Dumber” was initially hinted at by Young Thug in November, soon after he gained his release by reaching a plea agreement in his ongoing YSL RICO case.
“Wham, let’s hit these rats, Peter,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter), using Lil Baby’s nickname while also referencing the widespread snitching claims that had plagued the case.
The 4PF leader seemed to respond on his Instagram Stories by sharing a video featuring the soundtrack of his and Thug’s collaboration from 2020, “We Should.”
He subsequently composed a welcome back note to the YSL leader, stating: “I missed you mf!!!! Welcome back, my brother! Thank goodness you were able to return to your family in great health and high spirits! Wishing you nothing but billions, jack! #whatwhamsaysgoes.
Lil Baby recently disclosed that he might have been incarcerated alongside Young Thug, as he was at his home just hours prior to Young Thug’s arrest in May 2022.
During a conversation with Lil Yachty on his A Safe Place podcast, Baby mentioned: “What many don’t realize and I seldom share — I could’ve been with him. I visited his home on that very day. I’m grateful I decided to leave two hours ahead of time.
“That will mess with your mind more than anything else.” “Like, ‘Wow, I need to witness my friend endure this [and] that could have easily been me.'”
He stated: “A n-gga needed to transform their entire existence. [This is] not just my rap colleague; this is my daily [companion]. These are people I grew up with.
One rapper who was taken into custody with Thug was fellow YSL artist Gunna, who has faced accusations of snitching — notably from Lil Baby — since he accepted his own plea bargain in late 2022.
