The date of Eminem’s upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), will be released on April 1.

The Detroit rapper announced the project’s release date of July 12 on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday, July 1. He also shared a diabolical teaser for the album.

In the video, Em transports viewers to the made-up Pompsomp Hills Hospital, where a mother gives birth to a baby devil with horns, who is most likely Marshall Mathers.

“OH SH*T!!!” is what he wrote as a caption. SLIM SHADY’S DEATH (COUP DE GRÂCE) [skull emoji] 7/12!

A teaser trailer for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) was released by Eminem in April, just following his appearance at the Detroit 2024 NFL Draft.

Using a real-crime format, the footage has a reporter discussing Em’s alter ego, Slim Shady, who has gained a lot of haters due to his tongue-twisting rhymes and complex and often-criticized persona.

In a brief cameo, 50 Cent declares, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”

The reporter continues, “It’s possible that his demise was ultimately caused by the same offensive lyrics and contentious antics.” Come along with me as we reenact the circumstances leading up to Slim Shady’s murder.

At the end of the video, Eminem appears as a hazy talking head and declares, “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim.”

May saw the release of Slim Shady’s debut single, “Houdini,” accompanied with an animated comic book-style video that referenced his 2002 smash song “Without Me.”

The song, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, has Em jokingly making fun of R. Kelly and Megan Thee Stallion, among other people.

Would I actually have a chance at a feat if I asked Megan Thee, Stallion, to collaborate with me? He raps, alluding to the injuries to her feet from the 2020 shooting by Tory Lanez.

Later on, he alludes to the purportedly leaked sex tape featuring Kelly urinating on a child, saying, “In the coupe, leaning back my seat/ Bumpin’ R. Kelly’s favorite group, the black guy pees.”

This week will see the release of “TOBEY,” the project’s next single, which features Big Sean and Babytron, two other Detroit rappers.
