Lil Durk is promising to cover a sizable portion of LeBron James’ salary in an effort to entice him to the Chicago Bulls.

There won’t be a shortage of suitors for James, who is now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers but is anticipated to test free agency this summer; nonetheless, Durk may have the most unusual offer.

The rapper from Chi-Town used Instagram to personally appeal to the NBA great and his son Bronny, who has submitted an NBA Draft application for 2024. He then shared a screenshot of their exchange.

Durk stated, “You and Bronny come to Chicago Bulls shid i’ll pay you if I got to,” in a private message to LBJ.

“Idc if I got to go half @chicagobulls it’s time,” he continued.

Although LeBron has only played in 25 games of college basketball, and his son Bronny is still a somewhat unproven talent, the Bulls have not publicly stated their interest in acquiring LeBron or Bronny. Durk is keen to bring the league’s all-time top scorer to his home team.

When LeBron returned the Larry O’Brien Trophy to Los Angeles in 2020, it was the final piece in the puzzle that would finally end the iconic franchise’s drought. The Bulls hadn’t won an NBA championship since 1998, the year of Michael Jordan’s domineering rule.

Though he did end the 2023–24 season averaging over 25 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in over 35 minutes per game, it is debatable if he still retains that skill at age 39.

The two have reciprocal regard for one another; in the past, LeBron James declared Lil Durk to be the rapper with the greatest basketball talents.

James stated during a segment of The Shop that “Lil Durk can hoop.” He is a true hoopster. Man, he was hooping at Lifetime. He also received a fucking canon. He appeared to be a muthafucka who could after getting a peel.

After learning of the compliments, the frontman of OTF shared the video again on Instagram with the message, “Let’s go @kingjames, I don’t want to hear shit nomo from nobody.”

Kevin Durant, the former MVP, also complimented Durk’s basketball abilities after seeing social media footage of the rapper playing.

Durant said, “He really got some shit wit him,” in response to an Instagram photo showing Durk having a great time. “This dog looks like he belongs in the Golden State of Montana. @lildurk has been in that lab.”
