The first trailer for Donald Glover’s upcoming film Bando Stone & The New World has been revealed, and it looks like an exciting watch.
The two-minute film was first shown in IMAX theaters on Thursday, June 27, by the rapper and actor, before A Quiet Place: Day One.
With a shot of himself holding two movie tickets and the caption, “Bando Stone trailer is coming tonight @imax,” he posted on Instagram earlier that day, giving fans only a few hours’ notice.
In the RCA and Gilga-produced movie, Glover (also known as Childish Gambino) plays fictionally well-known artist Bando Stone, who has to survive in a post-apocalyptic world despite only being able to sing.
In the eerie yet humorous teaser, Glover’s character teams up with other survivors to flee to safety, only to run into bizarre, maybe extraterrestrial dangers like electromagnetic traps and enormous, bloodthirsty monsters.
Viewers are asked the somber question, “What are you when the world ends?”

Bando Stone & The New World, which is produced by RCA Records and Gilga, Donald Glover’s creative firm, also features English actress Jessica Allain. She is most recognized for her parts in the horror films Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Fear, and Thriller.
The soundtrack for the film, which will only be accessible in IMAX theaters, will be provided by Childish Gambino, who is anticipated to record one last full-length album under his rap persona.
The Atlanta celebrity had previously stated that the album would be released this summer, but a release date has not yet been revealed.
“Lithonia,” the project’s lead single, will be released on Friday, July 2, according to Bino, who made the announcement earlier this week during a TikTik Live.
He also lashed out at streaming site Audiomack for supposedly being the cause of the song’s early leak.

The rapper/singer is preparing to go on a big world tour that will take him across North America, Europe, and Oceania between August 2024 and February 2025, which will add to his much anticipated musical return.
Fellow genre-bending celebrities Willow Smith and Amaarae will accompany him on tour.
