To combat the summertime heat, Ludacris and Jim Jones are attempting to launch a brand-new social media challenge.

The Dipset MC posted an Instagram video on Friday, July 12, showing him jumping into a home swimming pool while still wearing his clothing.

With Taylor Ricard and Dilla Illa’s song “Too Turnt” serving as the soundtrack, he posted the picture with the hashtag “#diveChallenge.” Let me check out your house pool, public pool, beach, river, ocean, and yacht deck. You can even add theme music.

His Atlantan peer did the same a few hours later with a video of his own.

The Diplomatic Immunity hitmaker posted the following remark to his Instagram profile: “I’m tryin to see it@ludacris want some diving smoke lol #tooturnt #Divinchallenge.”

Although Ludacris hasn’t put out a record in a while, he still loves hip-hop, as he recently disclosed that two rappers in particular have motivated him to keep up his rapping.

The legendary Southern rap musician talked about creating new music and the artists that he is most inspired by today in an interview that was published in Rolling Stone towards the end of the previous year.

He declared, “I adore J. Cole.” Without a doubt, I adore Kendrick Lamar. These are but a handful. I would say those are my top two. I adore taking in their music. I adore Kendrick’s progressive nature, and Cole is just… The hunger is the cause. That’s what I need to keep me motivated to keep going. People find him appealing. And I have conveyed this to these two people. It only consists of love.

Luda voiced his concerns about the state of hip-hop and the music industry during the same conversation.

His biggest pet peeve, he admitted, is “when people take a sample and don’t change a thing, or they take some lyrics and don’t switch it up.” “Instead of [taking] something exactly as it was and [redoing] it, I would love to see a bit more effort put into trying to flip things.

Of course, it isn’t true for every situation, but generally speaking, it is. For Whitney Houston nevertheless infused her own uniqueness onto the tune even after appropriating it from Dolly Parton. With regard to production, I don’t think someone should just take a song that was created twenty years ago and leave it alone. Basically, that what’s I was saying.

In 2024, Ludacris intends to release new songs, however he hasn’t given many specifics yet. The rapper-turned-actor talked candidly with BET in November about breaking his eight-year music layoff.

Yes, there will be some music releases in the upcoming year. He clarified, “I don’t want to deceive or stutter-step. “I don’t want to announce that my album is coming out like André 3000 did. I’m not sure. There will undoubtedly be music released in the upcoming year, however I’m not sure if it will be an LP or an EP. We will resolve the issue.
