At the Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Sunday, President Bola Tinubu observed Eid Kabir prayers alongside devout Muslims.

Muslims around the world commemorate Eid-el-Kabir on the tenth day of the Islamic calendar month of Dhual-Hijjah. At 8:55 a.m. on Sunday, the President came at the Eid prayer site accompanied by senior government officials.

At the prayer area are other prominent figures such as businessman Aliko Dangote, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.

The President had earlier asked Nigerians to consider the true meaning of Eid-el-Kabir, a holiday of great national importance.

In his message to the Muslim Ummah, he issued the call on this happy occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, which symbolizes faith, sacrifice, and submission to the will of God.

“The President places Nigeria on a firm pedestal of growth and development while acknowledging the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the last year.”

According to a statement released by the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, “President Tinubu affirms that the sacrifices and great expectations of citizens will not come to nought as already propitious outcomes are beginning to manifest with the economy strengthening and vibrancy returning to critical sectors.”

In addition to working purposefully to advance harmony, peace, and advancement, President Tinubu asked the populace to offer up a prayer for the country’s ongoing peace and stability.
