Timbaland has sought to explain his supposedly antisemitic remark aimed at Drake regarding his lawsuit against Universal Music Group.

Last week, the producer faced criticism for sharing what seemed to be an antisemitic image in reaction to speculation that Drizzy intends to sue the music giant for $2 billion.

In a comment on Instagram, Timbo posted a GIF showing a white man with a big nose and a beard, which many interpreted as an antisemitic portrayal targeting Drake’s Jewish background.

Although the Toronto rapper didn’t reply publicly, observant fans noticed that he had stopped following his “Say Something” collaborator on Instagram.

In a subsequent comment over the weekend, Timbaland responded to the criticism and seemed to clarify that he had no ill intentions regarding Drake’s religious background.

“That gesture of shaking his head signifies to allow the narrative to unfold,” he noted, alluding to the reality that the purportedly antisemitic GIF he employed features a man shaking his head.

“Mal could be onto something.” “They claim you must demolish to reconstruct!!!” he remarked.

Rumors about a possible $2 billion lawsuit arise from remarks made by Mal in a recent installment of his New Rory & Mal podcast.

Timbaland isn’t the only individual who appears to have made antisemitic comments regarding Drake after he claimed that UMG is employing streaming bots and payola to boost the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Joe Budden alluded to the Canadian rapper’s Jewish background during a heated tirade on his eponymous podcast last week.

He described the 6 God as: “He’s a deceitful, self-serving, manipulative piece of garbage who has created foes for 15 years, and now we’ve reached the damn breaking point.” You’ve been lurking in the background, acting like the worst person you can possibly be.

“He’s really white, he’s Jewish, and he overstepped his bounds.” You have been in the background dealing with guys’ baby mothers, sending cash to guys’ baby mothers, and messaging this guy’s spouse.

Drake has not yet replied to Budden’s remarks regarding his identity and background, although his father, Dennis Graham, did respond to the rapper-turned-podcaster.

The 70-year-old ex-musician stated in an Instagram comment: “Step back now!!!!”

He then issued another caution: “Joe needs to back off completely; this is none of his business, end of story.”
