Rod Wave is sharing the agony of recording his new album with his fans in anticipation of its release.

This week, the Florida artist disclosed on his Instagram Stories that creating his upcoming body of work required a great deal of “hurt.”

He commented, “This fuckin project hurt so bad bra.” “But I’ll give it to all of you.”

He also hinted to the impending announcement of the tracklist, tour dates, and merchandise.

In September of last year, Rod Wave’s previous album, Nostalgia, featuring 21 Savage, Wet, and Sadie Jean, was published.

With almost 137,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week, the project debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 list.

For Rod Wave, putting his all into his music is nothing new. Prior to Nostalgia, he talked candidly about using music as an outlet for his pain in an interview with Ebro Darden of Apple Music 1.

He remarked, “I feel like, over the years, I done let a lot of it out and it was just therapy for me. I felt like, when I first came on the scene, I had a lot of pain and just a lot of scars and stuff.”

“But I always remember where I was at, which is why I even named this album Nostalgia.”

He went on, “I remember where I was at, how I was feeling, and what I was doing in every interview I did, every person, every face I met, every song, and every video I shot.” I simply have to acknowledge that this is nostalgia.

“I will be able to look back on everything I release into the universe and the world and say, ‘Damn, I remember that time.'” I recall saying, “You understand what I’m saying?”

“I just feel different,” he continued. I’m in a distinct area now. I’m developing. I’m maturing in this. You know what I mean—the world is watching me grow? They have no idea that I’m also developing psychologically.

Rod Wave has released five studio albums, the latest three of which debuted at number one. His albums had previously reached at No. 2 and No. 10.
