Fans of Benny The Butcher are in for a huge treat as he drops his second album of the year, a surprise album, and promises another release in 2024.
The Griselda MC announced on social media on Friday, August 2, that he would be releasing a new project titled Summertime Butch on August 9, one week from now.
“I told you all that I’m dropping three times this year.”The streets require something!” he exclaimed.
Because I love you all and summer is still going strong, I’m saying this because on August 9th, “SummerTime Butch,” a whole project that will surprise MFs by saying, “The butcher is coming!” Assemble on August 9.

Following Benny’s January 2024 publication of Everybody Can’t Go, Summertime Butch is his next project. Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Stove God Cooks, Jadakiss, Babyface Ray, and other guests join Griselda mainstays Armani Caesar, Westside Gunn, and Conway The Machine on that project.
HipHopDX’s Karan Singh noted at the time, “The 12-cut package is a concoction of sharply digitized beats and eloquent instrumentation in mechanical form, processed further to synthesize hard-headed mafioso bars.”
Lyrically, Everybody Can’t Go is the most recent piece of empirical evidence supporting Benny The Butcher’s deft word choice; the way he tells his story opens up new interpretations even when he revisits some themes and ideas.
“A lot of the Buffalo spitter’s peers continue to struggle to maintain their identities while capturing people’s attention, but he’s carved out a niche for himself in the current scene by emulating the dominant brand of the past Hip Hop scene, making sure that fans of all ages come to his team when they’re craving it.”
Benny has evidently never forgotten his roots, even as he progresses, with tenacity acting as the album’s core. It remains to be seen whether the record will be accepted by the bigger commercial space and the younger generation ruling it, but Hip Hop is in good hands with The Butcher.
