Chlöe Bailey is dropping her eagerly awaited follow-up album right away. The singer-songwriter revealed on Monday, August 5, that Trouble in Paradise will be available for streaming on Friday, August 9.

Alongside what looked to be the cover of the record, she captioned the image, “A storm is coming.” She was seen in the picture wearing a strapless glow-in-the-dark dress and resting in a body of water. She hasn’t revealed the official track listing, although earlier this year, the singles “FYS” and “Boy Bye” were made available.

Fans responded to the artwork and discussed their hopes for the project in the comments area. “Queen, I had no idea you were going to hit us over the head like this. We [are] going to feast, an Instagram user commented. Another person responded to the comparatively short notice by asking, “Like, this Friday? Wake me up, please; I’m dreaming.

When Bailey’s debut album, In Pieces, was released in 2023, it received a ton of favorable reviews. Favorite songs like “How Does It Feel,” “Body Do,” and “Feel Me Cry” were included. Missy Elliott, Future, and Chris Brown were among the features; the latter artist’s inclusion on the project sparked some criticism.

The 14-song album debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums index and peaked at No. 119 on the publication’s 200 chart. These details are also noteworthy. In an interview with People, Bailey said of the record, “I was really vulnerable, and I was like, ‘This project’s going to be about all types of heartbreak’ — not just with a romantic partner, but heartbreak with family and friends that you trusted and thought would always be there for you.”

The singer and actress made an appearance on the remix of Tinashe’s blockbuster TikTok video “Nasty” in June, aside from her own music. It was the first time the two had ever worked together.
