Ice Spice officially released her much-anticipated first album Y2K! on Friday, July 26. The New York rapper invited Travis Scott, Central Cee, and Gunna to make cameos on just ten of his songs. However, production was mostly managed by RIOTUSA, a longstanding partner.
With “Phat Butt,” the first track on the album, Ice made references to Pauly D from “Jersey Shore,” Nicki Minaj, and Batman. The project then moved into “Oh Shhh..” and Playboi Carti-type songs like “Popa” and “Bch I’m Packin’.” The rapper’s debut studio album included hits including “Did It First,” “Gimmie A Light,” and “Think U The St (Fart)”.
Ice had previously stated that she had tried to “branch out more and try different sounds” with Y2K!
“As soon as I get into the studio, I speak anything comes to mind. “We’re using a lot of trap elements to spice it up, but a lot of these beats are still drill beats,” the musician said in an interview for her Rolling Stone cover.

She also talked about how entertaining the album’s creation was. “I’ll probably do whatever I want ninety percent of the time, and the remaining ten percent, I’ll give you what you want.” In addition, the rapper said, “I just really enjoy making fun records because that’s what I listen to most of the time.”
Ice’s headline “Y2K! World Tour” is scheduled to kick off its U.S. leg on Tuesday, July 30. Boston, Detroit, Toronto, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta are a few of the noteworthy stops. She will arrive in Miami Beach on August 31 to finish the journey. Cash Cobain, a fellow New Yorker and recent collaborator, will accompany her on tour as a supporting act, with RIOTUSA providing the boards.
