A$AP After more than six years without a new album, Rocky is finally preparing to release a new album later this summer.
The native of New York City debuted at Paris Fashion Week on Friday, June 21, when he unveiled his “American Sabotage” collection at the Hôtel de Maisons.
Three of the 35-year-old’s previously unreleased songs filled the air, illuminating his most recent project as his AWGE models showcased his most recent arrangements and designs on the promenade.
Considering that the identical lines were printed on multiple flags outside the venue and on the clothes that were on display inside, it is likely that these songs will be included on the rapper’s upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb.
A pre-save link for the project went live online shortly after the event ended, revealing that the new collection of songs will be released on August 30.
The “Goldie” hitmaker took a time just before the performance to discuss the idea behind his most recent collection.
He told Hypebeast, “America has a lot of historical values in itself.” “I’m shedding light on my horror, American sabotage, American story, and American story.”
He continued by saying that he drew inspiration for his most recent work from seeing people from all racial, cultural, and background backgrounds, saying, “I pull inspirations from all of that.”Detainees, prisons, and mass prisons. I have experienced all of those things. All of those things are really familiar to me, and this is just how I’m expressing myself from my ghetto.
The rapper has previously stated that the new album includes some of his best and most experimental work, even if not much else is known about it.
He stated in an interview with DAZED magazine last year, “I’ve been really exploring as usual, and this seems like my greatest work yet. I wish to set a broad and flexible expectation. I wish not to give you any spoilers. All I want is for people to feel it as naturally as possible.
Over the past year, he has also released a handful of tracks, such as “Same Problems?” and “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n),” which was produced by Pharrell. It’s unclear right now if they’ll make the cut.
