The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has issued an order for the arrest of two Commission officers who are suspected of assaulting a female employee at the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.

In an internet video, the plain-clothed EFCC operatives can be seen obtrusively entering a hotel room. In the footage, an unidentified woman—possibly a hotel employee—is seen trying to open the door from the inside as the males burst through.

After giving the woman a slap, one of the cops can be seen telling her to leave the room. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) captured this occurrence.

An EFCC spokesman said in his statement that the incident happened during an early-morning sting operation. He said that several individuals were arrested as a result of the operation, and they are currently being profiled. He uttered,

“The head of the EFCC has also directed thorough investigations into the operation conducted at the hotel and guaranteed that any officers found to be at fault would face appropriate disciplinary actions.”
