Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated on Saturday that since taking office in August of last year, President Bola Tinubu has never meddled in the operations of his office.

This was said by the minister in the capital city of Abuja, during the Guzape Lot II Infrastructure Project’s commissioning.

To the audience’s cheers, Wike declared, “Since I took office on August 21, 2023, you have never one day interfered in my work.”

You have never, ever told me over the phone that this is what you desire. I sometimes act as though I’m going to approach you and ask, “Are people complaining?” You’ll say to me, “Have I ever given you a call?” Thus, go perform your work and don’t distract yourself.

“I have to admit that the Minister of State and I are quite grateful that you granted us the freedom to work as we are doing today.

The minister also reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s resolve to finish the projects in Abuja’s diplomatic district.

He told the President that most Nigerians wanted to live in the area, and he promised that the projects would be finished by the following year.

The President thanked Wike in his speech for fulfilling the Federal Government’s pledge to the residents of the Federal Capital Territory to revitalize the infrastructure.
