Taraji P. Henson has done a spoof of Kendrick Lamar’s hit Drake hate song, “Not Like Us.

“Henson launched the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, June 30, by turning the Mustard-produced single into a scathing critique of Hollywood studios regarding equal pay.

The Oscar-nominated actress, dressed in a red cap and sweatshirt akin to those Kendrick wore at his last Pop Out show, sang about getting bad scripts, having to prove herself to studio bosses, and getting paid less than her male co-stars.

She also changed the refrain of the song to “this about us” instead of “not like us.”

Henson further clarified that she was not endorsing one side of the dispute between Drake and Kendrick with her performance of the diss track.

“I’m cheering for everyone here. Yes, there is no beef here. “Can we just stick to a plant-based diet?” she asked, urging everyone to join together.

Taraji P. Henson poked fun at presidential candidate Donald Trump after he made contentious remarks recently on “Black jobs” in her parody performance.

“They’re taking Black jobs now and it could be 18, it could be 19 and even 20 million people,” stated Trump in last week’s debate with Joe Biden. You haven’t seen it yet, but you’re about to witness the worst event in our history: they are stealing employment from Black and Hispanic workers.

During her monologue, Henson responded angrily, stating, “[This is] a show packed full of all-stars with Black jobs.” Whatever that implies. However, it is obvious that there is a distinction. We already knew that, but thanks for the information.

In the same building where he was detained at the Grammys earlier this year, Killer Mike joyfully won Album of the Year for Michael at the BET Awards, which was another highlight of the evening.

Throughout his passionate acceptance speech, he declared, “Technically, I was not supposed to be here.” After being placed in handcuffs, I was led out of the building. However, I want you to know that I’m back, sweetie. Just look at God. I’ve returned.

“I want Black people to know that my return is not due to a shortage of White people, but rather to BET. This company is led by a Black man, the show is produced by a Black corporation, and they got my Black ass back in here. I’m grateful.
