Snoop Dogg disclosed that he secretly contacted Kendrick Lamar and expressed regret for sharing Drake’s diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle” on social media.

Earlier this year, Snoop amazed fans by releasing the contentious track — featuring AI-generated vocals from both him and the late 2Pac — on his Instagram Stories, which many saw as an act of support for the 6 God.

Kendrick subsequently tackled the perceived treachery on the opening track of his GNX album, “wacced out murals,” where he rapped: “Snoop shared ‘Taylor Made,’ I hoped it was the edibles / I was in disbelief, it was only fitting for me to move on.”

Snoop first reacted by humorously acknowledging that the edibles were to blame; however, in a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, Tha Doggfather has clarified that he was not aware “Taylor Made Freestyle” was uploaded on his IG account.

“What occurred was that I collaborated on a post with someone.” “When I engage in it, I don’t pay attention to the music; I only focus on Gin & Juice since it’s my brand,” he stated, mentioning the beverage company he and Dr. Dre started earlier this year.

“Thus, when I shared it, I believed I was sharing Gin & Juice.” “I’m not sure which song this is; I’m not familiar with everyone’s music.”

Snoop then disclosed what he communicated to Kendrick Lamar upon learning that his “Institutionalized” partner was displeased with the post.

“Next, I received the message: ‘Nephew wasn’t pleased with your actions,’” he went on. “What have I done?!” ‘You played a piece of music.’ What kind of music?! Then I needed to check the [post] and I thought, ‘Oh, that’s why.’

“Then I removed it, contacted [Kendrick], and left him a message since he didn’t answer; he was busy with his stuff.” “Nephew, this is Uncle Snoop.” I received the message. I’m sorry, I messed up. “My mistake.”

The West Coast rap icon mentioned that he wasn’t bothered by Kendrick referencing him in “wacced out murals.”

“That’s my nephew, dude.” He’s a rapper; he’s meant to express his thoughts and share his reality. “That’s how he felt, and he is entitled to express that,” he stated.

“I’m his close friend, so I have to accept what he shares from his viewpoint since he’s sharing the truth.” The truth ought not to cause you pain; rather, it should enhance your life. I’m someone who acknowledges the truth when it is presented to me openly.

“He believes I shouldn’t have participated in that.” Damn, I was on those edibles, my dude. I need to be more cautious. “You are correct, nephew.”

Snoop Dogg also discussed Drake imitating his voice through artificial intelligence on “Taylor Made Freestyle” (which has been taken down after a legal warning from 2Pac’s estate), admitting he didn’t know he would be “featured” on the track before its release.

“I don’t want to be involved in anyone’s problems, man.” “I enjoy being in my own mess,” he stated. “When it concerns beef, that’s a genuine factor that I possess.” I don’t involve myself in anyone’s disputes. I’m typically the one who resolves the conflict.

“However, if it’s beyond my grasp, I step aside and let two men come to an agreement.” And I believe these two men should create a space where I’m not required to choose sides or intervene.

He stated: “Coming from the West, my heart belongs to the West. But when it involves this situation, you’re going to take care of your matters because you’re from the damn West! You don’t require any assistance. And if you required assistance, you wouldn’t need to request it; I would have been there in an instant.

Bootleg Kev also inquired with the Death Row Records owner about his opinions on Drake suing Universal Music Group regarding Kendrick’s popular diss track “Not Like Us,” but he declined to respond.

He simply stated: “In the West, we administer justice in the streets, dude.”
