The singer educated Elmo “all about gratitude” in their upcoming episode together.
SZA will make an appearance in the star-filled 55th season of “Sesame Street,” debuting on Jan. 16 on Max. On Thursday (Jan. 9), the program revealed that she will team up with Reneé Rapp, Michael B. Jordan, Samara Joy, and others for music, lessons, and additional activities.
New episodes are released every Thursday on the streaming platform — and subsequently broadcast on PBS in the autumn — while fans can anticipate a new track from the “Pretty Little Birds” artist. As reported by ABC, she collaborated with Elmo on an “alt-R&B-pop song focused on appreciation.”
SZA is incredibly awesome [and] very skilled. Also, ‘gratitude’ was a novel term for Elmo, as well. “Therefore, Elmo discovered everything regarding gratitude alongside SZA,” the crimson Muppet told the publication.
“New episodes of ‘Sesame Street’ will assist young audiences in recognizing and articulating their emotions, discovering fresh mindfulness techniques, and, as ever, enjoying fun times with their beloved furry and humorous pals,” said Sal Perez, executive producer of “Sesame Street.” “We are equipping children with techniques to foster resilience and essential skills for emotional health.”
The next season of “Sesame Street” will feature SZA’s guest appearance alongside Cookie Monster in 2024. In a 49-second video, the cherished character greeted her with a “small surprise” — Muppets shaped like letters that spelled out the St. Louis artist’s name.
“I greatly appreciate it.” “I adore it,” she responded, to which Cookie Monster playfully said, “I believe next time, [I’ll] simply hand you a cookie.” Check out the video below.
In April, SZA will embark on a journey alongside Kendrick Lamar for their “Grand National Tour.” They will perform in cities such as Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Toronto before concluding in Washington, D.C. on June 18. The journey was preceded by SOS Deluxe: LANA and GNX, which both landed at the end of 2024.
