The Muslims of the Kingdom are urged by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia to take part in the crescent moon sighting of the Arabic month of Dhu Al Hijjah tomorrow evening, Thursday.
It is anticipated that this action will assist in determining when the festival falls on the (Islamic) calendar as well as the beginning and end of the new and last month of Hijr.
The largest Islamic holiday, Eid Al Adha, is observed on the tenth of Dhu Al Hijjah, according to PUNCH Online.
“Eid Al-Adha will fall on Sunday, June 16 if Friday, June 7, is confirmed as the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah,” the statement stated.
According to Gulf News, the court asked anyone who could see the crescent moon with their unaided eyes or using binoculars to come to the closest court and testify.
To assist him in getting to the closest court, they are asked to register their testimony or get in touch with the closest center.
Concurrently, Inside the Haramain published a related report on its X, #insharifain, on Wednesday.
The news outlet that originates from the two sacred mosques in Mecca and Madinah is officially represented by this agency.
“Tomorrow evening, Thursday, 29 Dhu al-Qadah 1445 H, corresponding to June 6, 2024, is the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah. The Supreme Court calls on all Muslims in Saudi Arabia to research this.
According to the article, “the crescent sighting will confirm the days of Hajj, including the Day of Arafah and Eid Al Adha.”
El-Adha
The “Festival of Sacrifice,” or Eid-el-Adha, is also known as Eid-el-Kabir. Among the most important Islamic holidays is this one.
It honors Prophet Abraham (Abraham) for his readiness to offer his son as a sacrifice in submission to God.
But God gave a ram in its place to be sacrificed. Special prayers, food, and the ceremonial sacrifice of animals like sheep, goats, cows, or camels are observed during the occasion. The less fortunate, as well as family and friends, receive some of the sacrifice’s flesh.
One of the five pillars of Islam, the Hajj pilgrimage, which is held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, also falls on the same day as the celebration.
