The Grammy Award-winning artist’s next album is now set to debut in February 2025.
Roddy Ricch’s THE NAVY ALBUM didn’t release on DSPs as expected on Friday (Dec. 6), but the Compton rapper still provided something for fans. At midnight, he released “Lonely Road,” featuring production by Turbo and Terrace Martin.
The visual, directed by Sergio, showcased Roddy driving through the city in a Maybach, alongside “guardian angels,” in connection with the touching chorus: “I need help ’cause I’m blinded, God, give me direction/ Can You send me some angels for protection?” In the meantime, Martin concluded the three-minute performance with a heartfelt saxophone melody on top of the famous Sixth Street Bridge.
“If you’re at the bottom or behind the wall, dog/ I was merely a pedestrian, now I can rise up at the wall, dog/ Roddy raps like the rent is due/ Roddy shares the complete truth,” the Compton emcee went on in the song’s later verse.

Roddy has been gaining consistent momentum for THE NAVY ALBUM with singles such as “Survivor’s Remorse” released in May and “911” in June, although the latter regrettably will not be included in the final tracklist. Set to launch on Feb. 21, 2025, the upcoming project has been confirmed to include 16 tracks.
As fans look forward to his third studio album, Roddy continues to progress with his Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial fifth-anniversary concert in Los Angeles on Friday (Dec. 6). He is anticipated to perform live versions of “The Box,” “High Fashion,” “Start Wit Me,” and “Bacc Seat,” among others. It’s uncertain if he will feature any special guests, but the 2019 project included a number of them: Gunna, Meek Mill, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Durk, Mustard, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.
In addition to his own music, Roddy featured on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX in November. The duo collaborated on “dodger blue” with Wallie the Sensei and Siete7x.
