After performing Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” during a gig in Canada, Rick Ross was attacked by OVO goons, escalating his feud with Drake to a physical altercation.
Rozay performed Kendrick’s hit diss song, “Chart-topping,” which makes claims that Drizzy is a pedophile, on Sunday, June 30, at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver.
A group of men approached Rozay after he left the stage while the song was still playing. They appeared to be upset that he had performed the song in Drake’s hometown.
After exchanging a few words, one of the males gave Ross a sucker punch to the face, sparking a lengthy, all-out fight that lasted several minutes.
After multiple members of Ross’ entourage were knocked down and severely beaten, Team OVO seemed to be the clear winners of the bout. The rapper was initially punched, but managed to stay out of the fight for the most part.
One of the MMG mogul’s team members was left unconscious on the grass at the conclusion of the brawl and needed to be helped away.
The incident occurred not long after Toronto rapper Top5 threatened to harm The Weeknd for supporting Drake in his battle with Future, Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, and others.
Top5, who is awaiting trial for murder, posted on Instagram Stories with the caption, “All these n-ggas are mad at one. I dare you n-ggas to come to the 6ix #noflyzone.”
The Weeknd’s photo was subsequently posted, along with the comment, “@theweeknd you began doing coke now your from Compton? Await your sighting by my GGs.
Since April, Rick Ross and Drake, a longtime friend and collaborator, have been at odds. In April, Rick Ross attacked Drake with the diss single “Champagne Moments.”
Rapping on Drizzy’s mixed ancestry, he sang, “Weezy gave you the juice/ Another White boy at the park wanna hang with the crew.”
In the outro, Ross added, “You ain’t never want to be an n-gga anyway, n-gga.” You got surgery to make your nose smaller than your father’s because of this, n-gga.
Continuing to make fun of Drake for supposedly having plastic surgery, he said, “Yeah, you had that surgery, that six-pack gone.” You can’t hide it, n-gga, which is why you’re wearing that weird shit at your concert.
The Teflon Don further disclosed that a cease-and-desist letter involving a feature was the reason he and Drizzy had a falling out.
“N-gga, I unfollowed you because you sent French Montana a motherfuckin’ cease-and-desist letter. You despised my puppy project, n-gga, and sent the cops. That white dude wasn’t the same one I saw when we were recording those early songs, n-gga.
