The head of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Alhassan Doguwa, has urged Nigerians to boycott the next demonstration in light of the current problems affecting the country.

“Tell our young people that protesting is not the solution. Praying for their leaders is a good idea. Mr. Doguwa stated that “no responsible person should come out to protest something that was built on deceit.”

The lawmaker went on, “I acknowledge that hardship exists. We are working hard to assist find solutions on behalf of the people. Furthermore, this difficulty cannot be resolved in a single year because it began about 16 years ago. It is not possible to accomplish. Individuals shouldn’t consent to being brainwashed into taking part.

In a Tuesday interview in Abuja, Mr. Doguwa stated as much. He claimed that President Bola Tinubu was making great efforts to address the problems facing the country.

“My fellow members of the National Assembly and I are contacting our constituents to request that they avoid the August 1 planned protest,” Mr. Doguwa clarified. In an effort to promote national harmony, we are also contacting the clerics and religious authorities in the area.

“We have to give the government a chance to succeed for the sake of the country,” he continued. We are attempting to mobilize our populace in order to sustain our backing for the president. The Northwest Development Commission Act is a measure that we are happy the president has brought into effect.
