Superstar of the Afro-Restaurant Rema releases “HEIS,” his second debut album.

Rema has combined Afrobeat with a fresh, original sound to create a palette of diverse, experimental genres.

The album comes after the release of his popular song “Benin Boys,” featuring Shallipopi, which debuted last month at No. 13 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, which was published on July 6. On Sunday, July 7, he also released the track “HEHEHE.”

Remember that in March 2022, Rema released his debut album, Rave & Roses, which had his breakthrough hit song, “Calm Down,” which was then remixed by Selena Gomez?

The U.S. number one song “Calm Down” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to receiving numerous additional honors, it was named Best Afrobeats Song at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, Best Collaboration at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Best Afrobeats at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

From the album marketing to the pre-release track, song titles, genre styling, and production, Rema has undoubtedly demonstrated once more that he is far beyond his prime in the Nigerian music industry—this includes every facet of the “HEIS” album.

The eleven tracks on the “HEIS” album include the exceptionally gifted Nigerian musicians Shallipopi and OdumoduBlvck respectively. As he elevates his fans and listeners to new heights, Rema is in fact about to unveil his new revolution in the Afrobeat genre.

It’s true that the musician will continue to dominate charts and streaming services, garner more accolades, and continue to release successful albums after this one.
