Tuesday, July 30, during Kamala Harris’s rally at the Georgia State Convocation Center, Quavo declared his support for her presidential candidacy. The rapper from Atlanta briefly ascended the stage to speak, complimenting the vice president on her commitment to reducing gun violence.

“Resolving the issues around gun violence is one of these subjects that I care about. If you are not involved in or close to the gun violence crisis, you cannot comprehend the difficulties it faces, Quavo stated. “Well, one thing I learned working with Vice President Harris is that she always stands on business,” he said, referring to his invitation to the White House last year to explore ideas for enacting the most significant gun safety measures to be passed today.

Harris brought up the contradictions between Donald Trump’s words and deeds later in the evening, quoting a line from Migos’ 2018 song “Walk It Talk It” and said, “As my friend Quavo would say, he does not ‘walk it like he talks it.”

The “Himothy” musician has been a vocal supporter of efforts to reduce gun violence, particularly in the wake of the 2022 shooting death of Takeoff, a fellow Migos member and nephew. After that, he established The Rocket Foundation to aid community-based initiatives aimed at lowering incidences involving firearms.

“We must improve the way we regulate firearms. Harris stated at the 2023 Annual Legislative Conference, “We need to figure out how do we keep these types of incidents from happening to people going anywhere and thinking they can hurt somebody where it shouldn’t happen.” “It all comes down to decisions and figuring out how to limit who has access to these weapons.”

It’s also important to note that Harris and Quavo joined forces for the non-profit’s first conference in June.

Megan Thee Stallion gave a noteworthy performance at the vice president’s rally in Atlanta, singing “Body” and her song “Mamushi,” which included Yuki Chiba. The rapper from Good News emphasized the need of preserving bodily autonomy while pleading with the crowd to back the Bay Area native. She stressed, “You know who to vote for if you want to keep loving your bodies.”
