Even though Post Malone now mostly makes pop and country songs, he still takes offense at claims that he was a “culture vulture” during his time in the hip-hop industry.
Posty revealed in a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, which aired on Sunday, August 11, how severely the label damaged him in his early career and sent him on a path toward self-destruction.
It was awful. I was young,” he remarked. As a coping mechanism, I drank a lot. Without a doubt, I [made it personal]. It’s challenging to refrain.
“However, you don’t create music for those who despise you,” he said in closing. It’s for both you and the ones you love.
Post Malone was forced to clarify last year that he is not a drug user after rumors about his sudden weight reduction spread.
Following his performance in Antwerp, Belgium in April of last year, the singer of “White Iverson” used Instagram to allay rumors about his appearance on stage and body.
“April 28, 2023, Belgium, Antwerp! “Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying your evening,” he said at the start. “I wanted to clarify that I’m not a drug user. A lot of people have questioned me about my weight reduction and, I guess, my stage presence.
“I’ve never felt better and am having a great time performing. I guess dad life set in, and I made the decision to give up soda and improve my diet in order to live a long and healthy life for this little angel.
Post Malone intends to give up beer and smokes at some point, in addition to giving up soda and eating a healthier diet. He also disclosed that he has been writing new music lately.
“Smokes and beers are next, but I think of myself as a patient man… lol!” He penned. “I’ve been working on new music in the studio a little bit lately, and I can’t wait to share it with you. I appreciate all of your support and patience. My heart beats because of you.
I’m at the happiest place I’ve been in a long time, and my head is in a really dope place, so I just wanted to say hello and hopefully post more on here.
