The Ogun police command has expressed alarm over a sharp rise in missing person reports.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday. “The command has observed an unprecedented increase in the number of missing persons across all age groups,” she stated.

Only a small percentage of the people had been located, and many of them had unfortunately failed to return home, according to Ms. Odutola.

The police spokeswoman advised everyone to put their safety first and to be more watchful and security-conscious.

She further stated that the command was dedicated to educating the public about this alarming trend as a proactive, community-focused force.

In order to prevent becoming a victim, we urge everyone to put their safety first by keeping a high level of security. Lanre Ogunlowo, the police commissioner, has laid out crucial policies and procedures to notify locals about the most important matters.

“The commissioner advises parents not to let their children use commercial transportation services with strangers, based on information provided by those who were rescued.”

Furthermore, he urges restless adolescents to use their mobile devices’ digital communication and sharing capabilities, particularly while they are traveling or experiencing discomfort, Ms. Odutola stated.

Ms. Odutola encouraged anyone in need of assistance to call the Police Public Relations Department at 09159578888 and the Police Control Room at 09164859299.
