Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s #RenewedHope administration, we have not faced a shortage of petroleum products during the holidays for two years in a row. This is a significant change from the difficulties of the past. This constancy is a testament to the progress achieved in stabilizing the downstream industry.
When I returned for the holidays, I went to a number of gas stations in Bayelsa State to keep an eye on the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) dispensers. Although the majority of stations followed precise metering, others with just little upward variances were told to adjust as needed.
This development demonstrates one of the major advantages of the downstream sector’s complete deregulation, which President Tinubu started by eliminating petroleum subsidies. This strategy has guaranteed the consistent availability of goods by letting market forces set pricing.
Nonetheless, collaborative attention is necessary for regulating activities. When buying fuel, I encourage Nigerians to pay attention to the number of gallons being distributed and to report any abnormalities right away. I hope everyone has an amazing celebration, and let’s all help to forward this revolutionary endeavor for a sustainable energy future.
