The “U Guessed It” rapper is presently on life support in Los Angeles, California.

Atlanta-born rapper OG Maco was admitted to the hospital on Thursday (Dec. 12) following an apparent suicide attempt. The renowned rapper, originally named Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr., is presently on life support at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

TMZ has reported, “Sources say the ATL-native Maco was discovered unresponsive and quickly taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery right away.” A gun was also recovered at the location. On the night of Friday, December 13, Maco’s manager, known as Poppa Percccc, informed TMZ Hip Hop that his close friend is alive, but he requests prayers from friends, fans, supporters, and associates.

“His life support is still in place, and he continues to fight,” his manager revealed to AllHipHop on Saturday (Dec. 14). “They are performing several tests on his brain and attempting to reduce the swelling, allowing his head to heal slightly, so they can carry out a procedure.” Only close relatives are permitted at the hospital, but we’ve been receiving updates.

In reaction to blogs incorrectly claiming that the “U Guessed It” rapper had died, long-time collaborator and friend Kino Beats stated, “All these bch a blogs have comments to make but had no reply when we were trying to connect…” “Phony industry, phony people, phony love,” he posted on his Instagram Story.

A user tweeted, “Ever since OG Maco became famous, life has been attempting to take him down.” “I really feel sorry for him.” He additionally clarified, “He was involved in a severe accident that caused his eye to bulge out of its socket, and he suffered from a serious flesh-eating skin infection that required hospitalization. All these rappers took his style without giving any credit. It was simply very unfortunate and depressing. “I’m certain there are additional things I overlooked.”

OG Maco is recognized for impacting a generation of emerging artists from various places. He was among the initial artists signed to Quality Control and has played a role in the success of well-known musicians like Mac Miller, Larry June, Doja Cat, and many more.

In 2016, following a severe accident that resulted in the loss of an eye, he remarked, “I don’t mind.” Just keep in mind that I never harmed you in any way. To witness a reality where the achievers and visionaries are mocked more than failures, and fitting in is deemed worse than being blind in one eye.
