In addition to regaining its number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has smashed yet another Drake record.
“Not Like Us” has returned to the top of this week’s list after peaking nine weeks ago during the height of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s dispute, propelled by the release of the song’s music video on Independence Day.
“Not Like Us” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and has remained there ever since. It is also Kendrick’s first number one to spend several weeks at the top of the chart without a feature.
“Not Like Us” has amassed 500 million Spotify plays, making it the most streamed song in the United States for the past week, as per Chart Data.
It beat Drake’s previous record with 2018’s “God’s Plan,” becoming the fastest rap song to accomplish the achievement in just 70 days.
Additionally, the song has had around 400 million more plays than Drizzy’s trash single, “Push Ups.”
On YouTube, Kendrick’s widely acknowledged triumph has also been highlighted. The Compton rapper’s “Not Like Us” video last week overtook Drake’s “Family Matters” video, which accumulated 35 million views in two months, with over 40 million views on the platform in just six days after its debut.
Other businesses have benefited from the popularity of “Not Like Us” and the video that goes with it.
Kendrick and producer Mustard may be seen both inside and outside the burger joint, Tam’s Burgers, which is located in Compton.
The restaurant claims that business is up 30 to 40 percent since the video’s publication.
The owners, who have known Kendrick since he was a teenager, arranged to have their brand prominently featured in the video without charging for the filming.
As a further sign of their appreciation, the proprietors have promised K. Dot a lifetime supply of complimentary meals.
