Nicki Minaj has finally received an apology from Erica Mena, who expressed that their shared ex Safaree had influenced the Love and Hip Hop star to oppose the Pink Friday rap icon, something she now regrets.

Mena appeared as a guest on the most recent episode of Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast, released on Monday (December 23). Soon after, she started talking about her controversial divorce from Safaree, the ex L&HH star and musician who was Minaj’s long-term partner during the 2000s and 2010s.

Mena stated that she discovered Safaree’s infidelity, prompting her to reconsider her earlier unfavorable view of Minaj — a perspective, she noted, that had been shaped by Safaree’s deceit.

“I have the greatest apology to give her,” Mena remarked about Nicki.

She clarified that, since Safaree was “love bombing” her, she believed him when he talked about “everything [Nicki] did to him.”

Mena remarked, “It’s amusing how life completes its cycle.” “Because what he did to her, he is now doing to me years later.”

“I recall him confiding in me about everything she did to him, sharing videos of her responses.” I never considered asking, so what actions did you take towards her?”

She remembered that Safaree had, at one time, “said anything he could to sabotage [Minaj’s] career and claim [credit] for her…efforts.”

“I need to apologize to this woman since I sat there and permitted him to speak about her to me.” As a result, I found myself defending and supporting him in a somewhat awkward manner, since ultimately, I was unaware of the truth.

“It completes a full cycle,” she added. “Tables continually change.” All of her remarks about him are accurate. “Everything she experienced with him, I’m experiencing it even more intensely.”

Along with Mena’s apology, Nicki has experienced other recent successes too. Significantly, she reclaimed the title of highest-selling female rapper of the year from Doja Cat for 2024.

Chart Data disclosed on November 30 that Minaj has outperformed her female rap counterparts in sales this year. In the second position is Doja, followed by Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Sexyy Red, completing the top five.

The previous year, Minaj and Doja swapped places, with Meg staying at No. 3, Cardi B securing No. 4, and Ice Spice landing at No. 5.
