Nicki Minaj is confronted with the possibility of criminal charges following allegations that she assaulted her ex-manager, Brandon Garrett.

As reported by TMZ, the police in Detroit have submitted a warrant request to the prosecutor’s office to see if they can arrest and prosecute the rapper.

In a legal complaint submitted last week, Garrett claims that Minaj attacked him in her dressing room in April 2023 after a Pink Friday 2 Tour event in the Motor City.

He asserts that the “Anaconda” rapper assaulted him after she discovered he had sent someone else to pick up her prescriptions.

Nicki reportedly struck Garrett with an open hand before slapping his wrist, which made him release several documents.

The legal complaint claims the strike to the face made Garrett’s head “jerk backward as his hat was tossed off,” while his wrist remained “pounding.”

He likewise asserts that the Young Money artist erupted in a brutal verbal assault, in which she told him: “Are you out of your mind letting him collect my prescription?” You’ve completely lost your mind, and if my husband were here, he would smack out your damn teeth.

“You’re a man on borrowed time.” You’ve just ruined your entire life, and you will never achieve anything; I will guarantee that.

Garrett also asserts that the event caused him to feel unsafe, leading him to barricade himself in a bathroom for hours afterward, ultimately leaving him stuck in Detroit.

He claims he was informed that he would not be staying on with Minaj after the event and tried to file a police report upon leaving the city.

Nicki, via her attorney, has refuted the accusations and asserts that Garrett was never her manager.

“Currently, no complaint has been presented to Mrs. Petty [Minaj’s legal married name], and as a result, we do not know the specific allegations,” her lawyer Judd Burstein informed TMZ.

“Nonetheless, if the suit is as described by TMZ, it is entirely unfounded and absurd.” We believe that the issue raised by this former assistant will be quickly settled in Mrs. Petty’s favor.

Garrett is filing a lawsuit for assault, battery, and “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” requesting damages that are not specified.
