Nelly and Ashanti’s reunion, resulting in their marriage and a child, will be featured in an upcoming docuseries on Peacock.
As reported by Deadline, the series is presently in production and has been filming for a number of months already.
At this moment, no additional information has been provided, but it is expected that the series will focus on the couple’s wedding and the arrival of their first child last year.
The docuseries is being created by Critical Content, the firm responsible for the well-known Catfish series.
Nelly and Ashanti are listed as producers for the show, but neither has commented on the announcement yet.
Though the series has not been named yet, it will mark Ashanti’s debut in reality television, while Nelly had previously participated in the BET series Nellyville, which was broadcast in 2014.
The announcement follows reports that the couple is already anticipating their second child.
The collaborators of “Body On Me” just had a baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, last July, but as reported by The Jasmine Brand, 44-year-old Ashanti is expecting again, although her stage of pregnancy remains unclear.
Neither Ashanti nor Nelly have confirmed the speculation thus far.
The couple successfully kept their first baby a secret until they felt prepared to announce it, and they similarly did with their marriage.
In June, TMZ obtained a marriage certificate for the celebrity couple that disclosed they wed on December 27, 2023.
Ashanti revealed their engagement the next April and shared her thoughts on the moment Nelly proposed during a chat with Entertainment Tonight.
“It was simply a lovely, personal moment,” she stated. “We did not dress up.”
Given that the couple was resting in bed and watching TV while dressed in T-shirts and boxers, she was justifiably “shocked” that her partner chose that environment.
The R&B artist remarked: “I wept. I offered him the largest hug and kiss imaginable. I video chatted with everyone I know… I felt ecstatic and astonished and amazed and thrilled all at once.
The couple reunited in 2023 after being together in the early 2000s and then being apart for more than ten years.
