The tennis champion mentioned that their relationship led to her “greatest blessing,” the daughter they had in 2023.
Cordae and Naomi Osaka have officially ended their relationship. On Monday (Jan. 6), the four-time Grand Slam winner posted on social media to share that she is single.
“I simply wanted to inform you that Cordae and I have ended our relationship.” No ill feelings whatsoever. “He’s an amazing individual and a fantastic father,” Osaka stated in a public service announcement shared through her Instagram Story. The couple, who welcomed their first baby together in 2023, started dating in 2019.
She went on, “To be honest, [I’m] truly grateful our lives intertwined because my daughter is my greatest gift, and I’ve grown immensely from our time together.” As of the time of this report, Cordae has not commented on their breakup.
After making their relationship public, Cordae was present at Osaka’s second U.S. Open championship. He also acknowledged her on 2021’s “Dream In Color,” after which the ex-couple made their Met Gala debut in September of that year.
In November 2024, Cordae released his third studio album, The Crossroads. Led by tracks such as “Syrup Sandwiches” featuring Joey Badass and “Saturday Mornings” featuring Lil Wayne, the 17-song collection included contributions from Anderson .Paak, Ye, Ravyn Lenae, Juicy J, and Jordan Ward.
“I sensed I was at a pivotal moment in my life,” the “RNP” rapper shared with Billboard about the project’s name. “It felt like a matter of life or death.” If I choose to go right, everything will turn out wonderful, and hooray, life is amazing. If I choose left, everything feels terrible… I’ve come to understand that one choice isn’t that significant. “It’s a result of choices made.”
Cordae will be touring to promote the mentioned LP beginning on Feb. 5. Following his performance at Sacramento’s Ace of Spades, he will make appearances in key cities such as Vancouver, Los Angeles, Houston, Charlotte, and Atlanta, among others. The journey will conclude with a last stop at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall on March 16.
