In order to promote an upcoming WWE event, Metro Boomin appeared alongside professional wrestler Cody Rhodes, showcasing his talents in the advertising industry.
The musician shared the new commercial clip on X (previously Twitter) on Saturday afternoon, July 6, captioning it, “We’re just getting started!” @CodyRhodes @WWE [emojis of blood] #badblood.
In the 45-second commercial, Metro and Rhodes are seated in an antique Ford Crown Victoria in The Gulch, a neighborhood of Downtown Atlanta, with a clear view of Phillips Arena. The transplant from Atlanta shows off his comedic timing as the two exchange a few lines about their purpose.
After their conversation, the song “GTA” by Metro Boomin and Future plays while a procession of WWE stars appears on screen, announcing the upcoming event, Bad Blood, which is scheduled for October 5 in Atlanta.
Metro Boomin has never shied away from pursuing hobbies outside of music. It’s no secret that he’s close to the superhero realm in particular, and he’s now integrated himself right into it.
The first comic book issue of The Metroverse will be on sale on June 14 through a website made specifically for the project. The first book, “The Rise,” written by Ryan Cady and drawn by Vasilis Lolos, would pit a superhuman version of the local Missourian against a despotic media mogul.
The regular edition has only been printed in 4,000 copies for the initial run, but the day before it launches online, it will also be available for purchase at a Complex pop-up in Los Angeles. There will be an enamel pin and art print in every bundle.
Metro may also be looking to expand the methods in which he makes money from his multiple talents in order to express his present feelings about the status of the music industry.
He hinted last month that his upcoming albums might not be made available on streaming sites.
The super-producer made the following statement on Instagram: “An artist needs to stream their music 20 times a day for a full year in order to make $25 from a fan.”
“This is why my next album will probably be the last one streaming,” Metro said over the post.
Metro is not the first musician to raise concerns about keeping their music available on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.
According to Kanye West, he intends to bypass streaming services and release Vultures 2 directly to fans.
