The artist known for “Bigger In Texas” alleged on Tuesday (Dec. 17) in a 193-page document that Tory Lanez engaged in “psychological warfare” against her.
Megan Thee Stallion asserts that Tory Lanez has caused her “ongoing trauma and re-victimization” even during his incarceration. On Tuesday (Dec. 17), she submitted a request for a restraining order against the Canadian artist, known as Daystar Peterson, due to ongoing harassment through social media. She had also earlier lodged a distinct lawsuit of a similar nature against numerous third parties, such as bloggers — specifically Milagro Gramz — and his supporters.
“Even at this moment, confined to his cell, Mr. Peterson exhibits no intention of halting,” a 193-page request acquired by Rolling Stone stated. “Although Mr. Peterson received a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Ms. Pete, he still inflicts ongoing trauma and re-victimization upon her.”
As per the legal representative of the “Roc Steady” rapper, Lanez “keeps threatening” her while incarcerated, as her earlier protective order lapsed in 2023. They also asserted that Megan is “unprotected at a time she requires it the most,” and particularly after the artist’s release, she will encounter increased harassment and emotional turmoil.
While Lanez received a 10-year sentence with time served in 2023, he mentioned “comin’ home sooner” in his rap on DDG’s “HANDLING BUSINESS,” released on Dec. 14. The Toronto resident was notably found guilty on three charges: assault with a machine gun, having an unregistered loaded weapon in a car, and recklessly firing a firearm.
“While Mr. Peterson misrepresents and carelessly ignores the truth in his frantic bid to overturn his conviction, his inaccurate claims have sparked a wave of negative, damaging, and slanderous remarks aimed at Ms. Pete,” the petition indicated in another part.
It further remarked, “Mr. Peterson is completely conscious of the effects of the psychological war he has launched against Ms. Pete, yet he persists in empowering his followers to assail Ms. Pete’s character and integrity.”
Megan previously recounted the 2020 shooting incident with Lanez and, particularly, the criticism she faced afterward in her documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. The movie was released in October, only a few days after MEGAN: ACT II came out.
