On Friday, September 6, the record will be available on streaming services.
Megan Thee Stallion recently released her album in June, and she is already preparing for more. She revealed her next song, “Neva Play,” featuring RM from BTS, on Sunday, September 1. The joint project will be released on Friday, September 6.
“This is among my all-time fave RM verses! The Texas rapper captioned her image with the illustration-style artwork of the tune, saying, “I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.” A potential easter egg was also noticed by some fans: Megan’s drawing was shown clutching seven dollar dollars, which may be interpreted as a reference to the seven members of BTS.
One excited response said, “Father of K-pop and mother of Hip Hop [are] coming to drop the sickest song of the year.” “Two hotties in one frame,” exclaimed someone another. Check out the cover below.
Rap and K-pop crossovers work well together, as Latto and Jung Kook’s “Seven” shows. Her song became the first rapper to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, and the accompanying video has had over 429 million views on YouTube. The BTS member experienced comparable success with “3D,” which featured Jack Harlow.
Megan, meantime, has prior experience collaborating with foreign performers. Her song “Mamushi,” which featured Japanese musician Yuki Chiba, peaked at No. 36 on the previously stated chart. The accompanying music video was directed by Kevin “Onda” Leyva and filmed in Tokyo by the two. Before moving to the Engaku-ji Temple for the dramatic second half, it began with a spa scene at the Tsurumaki Onsen Jinya.
Several other guaranteed cuts were included in MEGAN, such as “Cobra,” “B.A.S.” (or “Both Ain’t S**t” with Kyle Richh), and “Spin,” starring Victoria Monét. Buddah Bless, GloRilla, Big K.R.I.T., and UGK made more cameo appearances.
It’s also important to note that Megan will be hosting the 2024 MTV VMAs on September 11 and that “BOA,” a song from the project, is up for four awards.
