Following her recent projects ‘In Her Words’ and ‘MEGAN: ACT II,’ the rapper is now taking a much-deserved break from the online world.
The Hot Girl Coach is saying goodbye for the holidays. Megan Thee Stallion declared on the night of Wednesday (Nov. 28) that she will be stepping away from social media for the rest of 2024. She playfully added a caption to a video of her twerking, for those who enjoy it endlessly.
The remainder of her post stated, “Hey attractive people, today is my final day on these dating apps for the year.” Love you all — The thickest and the cutest saying goodbye.
A single response received more than 24,000 likes, jokingly said, “You didn’t just give us a twerk video to make us feel this way.” Victoria Monét, who worked with the rapper on June’s “Spin,” exclaimed, “Alright, but Meg! “You should be at my house, girl, let’s go.” Another user wrote, “Great way to say goodbye.” Kindly continue with the same action,” while adding a smirking face emoji.
Even though it was a mix of emotions, Megan was virtually omnipresent in 2024. She kicked off the year with “HISS,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned RIAA Platinum certification. During the months after that, she released “BOA” and two #MeganMondays freestyles: “He Think I Love Him” and “Like a Freak.”
The artist’s third studio album, MEGAN, was officially released in June and features standout songs like “Mamushi,” “Otaku Hot Girl,” and “Where Them Girls At.” Devotees had the opportunity to witness Megan’s live performance during her “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” which covered North America, the U.K., and select regions of Europe. I was thrilled to see a large turnout and many sold-out dates.
“People were truly thrilled to see me, truly thrilled to see [GloRilla],” Megan revealed to Billboard when discussing her time on tour. Some were doubting if she could fill arenas. It’s clear now, no doubt about it. During the second part of the year, Houston introduced Megan Thee Stallion with her projects In Her Words and MEGAN: ACT II. She posted the “Roc Steady” video on Wednesday for her second project, accumulating 610,000 views and reaching No. 5 on YouTube’s trending music chart within a day of its release.
