Kylian Mbappe has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after his contract with Paris St. Germain expires on June 30.
The France striker verbally agreed to transfer to the Bernabeu in February before announcing in May that he will leave PSG at the conclusion of the season.
Mbappe, 25, has signed a contract with Real Madrid and will go to Spain when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1.
Before Euro 2024, Madrid plans to publicly present the forward at the Bernabeu after making the announcement about the purchase set to happen next week.
2018 World Cup champion Kylian Mbappe has scored 256 goals for PSG since joining them on a loan from Monaco in 2017.
He and Real Madrid have reached an agreement that will maintain a portion of his image rights and pay him 15 million euros (£12.8 million) per season in addition to a 150 million euro (£128 million) signing-on fee spread over five years.
Luka Modric, a midfielder from Croatia who is expected to sign a new one-year contract with the team, will be available to play alongside the Frenchman.
38-year-old Modric entered the game as a substitute as Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday to win their 15th European Cup.
Although the former Tottenham midfielder’s current contract is set to expire later this month, it is anticipated that he will stay for an additional year.
After ten years, Modric made his farewell appearance for the team with four minutes remaining, replacing the 34-year-old German Toni Kroos.
Real Madrid will celebrate their record-breaking victory on Sunday night with a trophy parade across the Spanish city.
