Master P joined New Orleans mayor, LaToya Cantrell, to reopen Bourbon Street for the first time following a terrorist attack that claimed at least 14 lives.
In a video shared on Instagram on Thursday (January 2), the No Limit mogul strolls along the famous street and states: “I’m here, fighting for our community on Bourbon Street and in New Orleans, we will recover.” “It’s all about love here, indicating that Bourbon Street is reopening.”
He states: “The love present here is amazing because this wicked act that occurred cannot hinder the Lord’s plan.”
Master P is then observed engaging with locals and guiding a parade of officials along the iconic street accompanied by music.
He labeled the post: “Founded on Strength.” We are more powerful together. “City of New Orleans.”
To date, at least 14 individuals have lost their lives after a man operating a rented pickup truck crashed into a group of revelers celebrating the New Year.
The shooter was recognized as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was killed on-site by law enforcement.
Jabbar, a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in Afghanistan, joined ISIS last year and posted recordings on SoundCloud expressing his disdain for music, sex, drugs, and other forms of “evil” enjoyment.
One such recording asserts that rapping can tempt individuals “into the things that God has declared forbidden to us: the intoxicants such as marijuana, alcohol, sedatives, opioids, stimulants, and others.”
“Additionally, Jabbar noted how music draws us towards illicit sex, obscenity, aggression, treachery, pride, theft, dishonesty, and ingratitude towards our partners or people in general.”
In a speech to the country, President Joe Biden stated: “I have instructed my attorney general, the FBI director, the secretary of Homeland Security, the leader of the National Counterintelligence and Terrorism Center, and the intelligence agencies to collaborate on this thoroughly until we obtain comprehensive information.” As soon as we obtain that information, I will relay it as quickly as we are able to verify it.
Biden stated that he had “instructed my team to ensure that every resource, every resource is provided to federal, state, and local law enforcement to swiftly conclude the investigation in New Orleans and to guarantee that there is no ongoing threat to the American populace.”
