Lonzo Ball is explaining his role in his brother LiAngelo Ball’s recent viral song “Tweaker” following the release of the track’s credits that have left some fans puzzled.

The track credits the NBA player as both the songwriter and vocalist on Apple Music, but in a post on X on Monday (January 6), Lonzo explained his actual role.

“The only recognition I merit is for the cover art lol G really that! #YearOfG,” he posted.

Various scenarios can arise in this situation. In a scenario, LiAngelo simply acknowledged his older brother on the track to help him earn more, while it could also be that Lonzo is being modest and prefers his younger sibling to receive all the attention for his latest song.

Alternatively, it might just be a situation where the credits are disorganized, which occurs quite frequently.

“Tweaker” was released on streaming platforms on Friday (January 3), but had already gained viral attention online after LiAngelo played the track on Neon’s stream, leading fans to quickly associate it with music from the Cash Money/Hot Boys era.

Within only four days of its launch, the song has surpassed 4 million views on YouTube.

In different news, a few months ago, LiAngelo and Cam’ron clashed online when the Dipset rapper-turned sports analyst ridiculed LiAngelo for playing abroad, suggesting he wasn’t skilled enough for the NBA like his brothers Lonzo and LaMelo.

While discussing It Is What It Is, the Harlem native envisioned Gelo’s siblings saying to him: “We made an effort, we did all that we could.” “We have a tryout in China for you, that’s all there is,” before stating: “He’s not good enough for the NBA.”

LiAngelo, who has experienced time in the NBA’s development league and Summer League and most recently played professionally in Mexico, promptly responded on his podcast What an Experience, which he co-hosts alongside his brother Lonzo and friends DMO and Anthony Salazar.

“Suck It Or Not” featuring Lil Wayne, that’s all I recall about you,” he mentioned while speaking to Cam. “You’re not aware of my story in that way.” Saying, “Oh, he had an audition in China,” doesn’t reveal what I accomplished in the G League, my friend. “I’m out here playing basketball.”

Cam’ron shot back during a subsequent episode of It Is What It Is, stating: “I only recognize you because your dad’s an excellent marketer, n-gga. “I wouldn’t recognize you if it weren’t for LaVar Ball.”

He also mentioned LiAngelo’s arrest in China for purported shoplifting: “[LaVar] had two sons that he was correct about. Gelo, I don’t have any issues with you; I just have to speak my mind. You’re fortunate Trump was in China; otherwise, they could have chopped off your fingers for stealing those sunglasses, man.

Ball subsequently shot back in a video shared online, dismissing Cam’s rap career: “I’ve never had a conversation with someone who ranked you in their top five, top 10, bro. “I’ve never come across your name in any rap discussion.”
