The “A Milli” artist talked about the Super Bowl LIX and K. Dot’s “wacced out murals” during “The Skip Bayless Show.”

Despite the gossip, some conjectural references in Kendrick Lamar’s “wacced out murals,” and the approaching Super Bowl LIX, it seems there’s no animosity between Lil Wayne and the Compton artist. During the evening broadcast of “The Skip Bayless Show” on Monday (Dec. 16), the 500 Degreez rapper disclosed that they actually communicated despite social media creating a rivalry between them.

“I’ve talked to him, wished him the best and said he must excel.” “He has to succeed,” Lil Wayne stated. Unfortunately, for fans hoping for a surprise guest, the Young Money Records leader stated he’s “not even gonna be in the country” when the Super Bowl LIX occurs at the Caesars Superdome on Feb. 9, 2025.

In a video that lasted several minutes and was shared on Instagram in September, Lil Wayne expressed that not being selected for the yearly football event “hurt quite a bit.” Although Nicki Minaj, Birdman, and others were candid, the Grammy Award winner took much of the responsibility on himself: “I attribute my lack of mental readiness to myself.”

During his discussion with Bayless, Lil Wayne was inquired about Lamar’s line “Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down” from “wacced out murals.” Notably, the New Orleans local stated it was his “first time listening to” the song.

“I believe he’s a supporter just as I support his music.” I believe he implied he noticed what everyone else noticed. “He realized the significance it had for me,” Lil Wayne elaborated. “He didn’t disappoint me.”

The artist known for “Believe Me” added, “No explanation was required for that.” I believe I comprehend those words. His dedication is what enabled him to achieve that, and clearly, my feeling let down stems from my own frustration and disappointment over not securing that position.

It’s important to mention that a day after GNX unexpectedly became unavailable on streaming platforms, Lil Wayne tweeted, “I just be relaxin’ [and they] still [come after] me. “Let’s not mistake kindness for a lack of strength.” Joe Budden even asserted that Lil Wayne “entered the studio” upon hearing the lyrics, although this seems to be mere speculation at this point.
