The “Touchdown” host announced the release date after his fully booked birthday performance at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lil Baby’s next album, WHAM, is set to be released on January 3, 2025. He revealed the launch date following his fully booked birthday concert on Saturday (Dec. 7) at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been hinting at the upcoming LP on social media for several months.
Lil Baby has faced significant criticism following his public dispute with Gunna. The creator of the “Bigger Picture” track apparently fired several jabs at his previous collaborator after Gunna accepted a plea deal to be freed from custody amid the YSL RICO trial. Musicians such as Boosie Badazz, Future, Lil Durk, and several others have similarly separated themselves from the “HIM ALL ALONG” recording artist.
Although he didn’t explicitly mention Gunna, fans thought Lil Baby was targeting him in his song “350” when he rapped, “Ain’t never say nothin’ ’bout it, n**ga, you know you a rat.” Gunna responded to “prada dem” and tackled accusations of snitching when he stated, “I set the trend, I’m a trendsetter (Yeah)/ I’m not a rat, still gettin’ cheddar (Gettin’ cheddar)/ Audemars wrist, timeless (Timeless)/ Certified factory diamonds (Factory diamonds).”
When fans thought they had to pick between the two, some felt that Lil Baby’s music quality had declined while Gunna had developed as an artist. My Turn was considered one of the top albums of 2020 when it was released, but the “We Paid” rapper did not gain the same praise for his 2022 work, It’s Only Me. Although the album continues to be regarded as a commercial success, public fascination with Lil Baby has waned over time.
In a video from his birthday performance, a fan stated, “If this album isn’t fire, Gunna better.” The discussion will be concluded. Another person stated, “This album is crucial for his ahh, as it represents his FINAL opportunity.” Another user commented, “Unless he releases a hot track, dude might do 40k in the first week.”
On Friday (Dec. 6), Lil Baby released the initial track from his upcoming album named “Touchdown.” The track with a football theme is created by Wheezy, 9Jay, and Dez Wright. Click play on the visual beneath.
