Lil Baby appears to be uninterested in mending things with Gunna, seemingly throwing shade at him on the deluxe version of his latest album WHAM.
In the bonus track, “Running This Shit,” the Atlanta rapper targets his former collaborator once more over accusations of being a snitch.
“I don’t mind what he did; he’s still a rat / And I stand by my words, don’t debate me,” he raps.
“Running Shit” is among four new songs featured on WHAM (Deluxe), which was released on Tuesday (January 7) and includes a partnership with Future. The album is presently available only for digital purchase and is not yet accessible on streaming services.
Lil Baby has been calling Gunna a rat since he took a plea deal in his and Young Thug’s YSL RICO case in late 2022, which led to his release from prison.
In a recent conversation with Charlamagne Tha God, the 4PF leader directly dismissed any possibility of a reunion with his Drip Harder collaborator.
“We don’t have any relationship.” “Nope,” he replied.
Nonetheless, Gunna’s ex-attorney Steve Sadow has maintained that the rapper did not work with prosecutors in any manner to gain his release.
“I served as Gunna’s attorney, but I am NOT representing him.” “This lengthy post is just to clarify the truth,” he stated on social media last week after a song excerpt from Young Thug surfaced with what seems to be a dig at Gunna.
“Gunna did NOT assist, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to jeopardize Thug’s case.” He was incarcerated for 8 months and was freed in December 2022 after making an Alford plea.
The attorney added: “Gunna’s plea was not used and could not be used at Thug’s trial, and he was never named as a witness.” He was given a 5-year suspended sentence, with no requirement to report, no travel limitations, no residency restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.
“In the past two years, according to media reports, he has toured globally, gained worldwide fame and acknowledgment, and made millions of dollars.”
In contrast, Thug faced trial and ultimately entered a guilty and nolo contendere plea after serving 30 months in jail, was sentenced to 15 years of probation with reporting requirements, and is prohibited from residing in Atlanta. THOSE WHO HAVE AND STILL BADMOUTH GUNNA, MOVE ON. “ENOUGH SAID.”
He summarized: “Embrace the street regulations and the dry, snitched remarks. Oh the fake anger, same old nonsense. Both faced charges under RICO. Both confronted 20 years behind bars. Both agreed to plead guilty to RICO. Nonetheless, I’m fully prepared to take responsibility for the large amount.
