Kodak Black believes there’s currently a “hate train” aimed at him, and he anticipates that Hip Hop will turn against him similarly to how they did with Drake during his conflict with Kendrick Lamar.
This week, Yak responded to his critics on Instagram Live.
“One day these guys will try to treat me like Drake,” he stated. “Similar to how they treated Drake.” Entire small dislike Kodak initiative. Anyone who dislikes Kodak should step to the left. You observe these guys campaigning and whatnot.
He doesn’t appear to be very concerned, however.
“Yet it is love.” They demonstrate that I’m remarkable. I’m an awesome friend to have, and I’m not nice.
In December, Kodak Black openly criticized Drake for not making more effort to collaborate with him.
In a video that appears to have been recorded by a friend, the contentious rapper called out the 6 God for allowing Kendrick to “defeat” him in securing a collaboration.
“I’m the rapper that Drake likes the most.” He consistently states that. “Even his own people frequently mention that,” he remarked as he walked in circles around the room. “It doesn’t make any sense how Kendrick Lamar got to it before you, you know what I’m saying?”
Kodak, who featured several times on Kendrick’s 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, stated: “I understand why he sent all that money now.” That’s the reason he dispatched that unexpectedly like that.
The latter comment seems to allude to Drake having previously sent him $600,000 in Bitcoin.
Kodak disclosed the generous donation in an interview with MONTREALITY, stating: “That kid Aubrey! That is my dog. Drake transferred around 600 bands to me in Bitcoin. Drake hit me with that stuff. He claimed that I’m his favorite rapper. I adore that n-gga.”
The relationship between the two seems to have chilled after Yak stated he no longer wished to collaborate with Drizzy after their joint album with 21 Savage.
The Florida rapper intended to release an entire project with the 6 God, but as he stated on Instagram Live last year, the launch of Drizzy and 21’s Her Loss album led him to rethink his plans.
“I mentioned to Drake that I didn’t really want to collaborate,” he stated. “Neither songs nor an album, because we should have completed a whole album together before he and his friend did that.”
He mentioned: “I had informed him that I preferred to wait, until 2023, after February.”
Yak had earlier hinted at a joint album with Drake and disclosed that they had recorded a significant amount of music together.
Nonetheless, in spite of the considerable music seemingly recorded, the two have not yet put out any songs collaboratively.
