“If you need to leave, exit right away,” the ‘Indicud’ artist informed his fans in a social media post.
On Thursday (Jan. 9), Kid Cudi announced that he had to leave his residence because of the raging wildfires affecting the wider Los Angeles region.
In an Instagram Story, the “Mr. Rager” rapper conveyed that he and his dogs were lucky to escape unharmed. “Hey, everyone, [I] needed to leave my place.” “I’m secure [with] my family,” Cudi stated. “To everyone who has lost their homes and those affected by this, my heart aches for you, and I am praying for all of us.”
He went on, “I send all my affection to you and your family. If evacuation is necessary, leave right away. Don’t hold back. Stay safe, LA. “Appreciate you all.”
According to REVOLT, the wildfires have forced more than 100,000 people to evacuate and have resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals. The fire expanded to the Hollywood Hills at approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 8).
Cudi’s post on Instagram was the first update from him since he declared his break from social media in 2024. On December 19, the creator of Indicud informed fans that “disconnecting” was the healthiest choice for his mental well-being: “I’ll keep you all posted [via] my Stories, but I won’t be sharing much there either. Only projects and matters I have in progress will be shared by my team.
He additionally remarked, “I notice a lot of nonsense on here… I believe I’ve been too reachable. Now, when you receive communication from me, it will be via my art.
Cudi’s choice to withdraw from the internet occurred near the end of a hectic year. He released INSANO at the beginning of 2024, then shortly after came out with INSANO (NITRO MEGA) the following month. Although the Grammy Award winner initially had a global tour planned, those arrangements were swiftly canceled after he broke his foot at Coachella in April.
Regarding the wildfires, various celebrities and artists connected to Los Angeles or with family in the region have been voicing their concerns since they started. “Sending prayers to the [families] going through that directly,” Meek Mill tweeted, and LeBron James posted, “Praying for all in Southern California!” View additional posts below.
