Kendrick Lamar releases his new album, "GNX"

Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly released his new album, GNX.

With 12 tracks, the surprise project is Kendrick’s sixth studio album and his first not to be published via Top Dawg Entertainment. It include the previously hinted-at song “squabble up,” which was initially heard at the start of his “Not Like Us” music video.

Production is done by Mustard, Sounwave, DJ Dahi, Terrace Martin, Jack Antonoff, Kamasi Washington, and Kendrick himself, while guest appearances include SZA, Sam Dew, Dody6, AzChike, Siete and Wallie the Sensei, Hitta J3, Peysoh, Young Threat, Lefty Gunplay, and Ink and Deyra Barrera.

After Kendrick’s high-profile battle with Drake, which saw his stock soar due to the success of his Grammy-nominated, chart-topping diss single “Not Like Us,” GNX, whose title alludes to the Buick Grand National Experimental automobile, comes out.

The revelation that K. Dot would be the main act at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans, which upset Lil Wayne’s fans and friends (including Weezy himself), coincided with the album’s release.
