Anticipation for Kanye West’s forthcoming album Bully is increasing due to fresh content that has surfaced online.
A short video emerged on social media during the weekend featuring the rap legend performing an unreleased song while in Switzerland.
The song showcases a mixture of styles, including the fast-paced soul-sampling vibe of Kanye’s initial work, along with rich gospel influences, and his vocals can also be heard over the instrumental.
Nonetheless, the Chicago native was not pleased that someone was capturing him while he listened to the song, as he eventually turned around and gestured for them to stop recording right away.
Although little information is available about Bully, Kanye West revealed the album cover art last October.
The piece is a monochrome image of his son Saint showcasing fanged grills akin to those Ye acquired last year, which allegedly cost him $850,000 to upgrade his teeth with titanium.
West also disclosed that the close-up photograph was taken by Daidō Moriyama, an experienced Japanese photographer famous for his black and white street photography.
The founder of G.O.O.D. Music is said to be the only producer on the project, signifying the first occasion he has managed all (or at least most) of the beats on an album since his 2004 release The College Dropout.
“According to journalist and podcaster Touré, Kanye is currently residing in a Tokyo hotel as he diligently works on his upcoming album titled Bully,” he stated late last year. “He’s making the album in the hotel room.” “Basically, every machine is arranged in the hotel room.”
He subsequently provided additional information regarding the project, stating: “It’s a concept album and he intends to be the sole producer on it.” Historically, Kanye has been a result of collaboration; he has producers assisting him, writers supporting him, and while he brings the major concepts, others contribute as well.
“Not on this occasion.” This time, Kanye will mainly create this on his own. A new chapter in his life, as in Tokyo he can become who he desires to be.
Bully will be Ye’s initial solo album since Donda in 2021 and will follow his two Vultures albums with Ty Dolla $ign that were released last year.
